The Government of Assam, Finance (Establishment-B) Department has released an official advertisement inviting applications from retired Assam Finance Service (AFS) officers for contractual engagement as Special Financial Advisor in Administrative Departments / Directorates under the Government of Assam.

📌 About the Engagement
The Special Financial Advisor position is a high-responsibility advisory role intended to strengthen financial management and oversight in various administrative departments and directorates of the Government of Assam. Retired officers with deep experience in public finance, budgeting, and administrative procedures will be deployed where their expertise is most needed.
The engagement is not a regular government appointment and does not confer any claim for permanent employment. It is strictly contractual and performance-based.
📋 Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a retired Assam Finance Service Officer
- Must have retired from the rank of Junior Grade-I or above
- Officers already engaged in Co-Districts or Mission / Societies may also apply
- Maximum age limit: 63 years as on 01-01-2023
⏳ Engagement Period
The initial engagement will be valid up to March 2027. Based on performance and departmental requirement, the contract may be extended for one additional year.
💰 Remuneration
Selected candidates will receive the following remuneration package:
- Last Drawn Basic Pay – Basic Pension + DA (as applicable)
- House Rent Allowance (HRA) – as applicable
- Transport Allowance (TA) – ₹4,000 per month
The remuneration structure ensures fair compensation while adhering to government contractual norms for retired officers.
